Microsoft is experimenting with file sharing between Windows PCs and iPhones

Microsoft has announced a new feature for its Phone Link app and Link to Windows app, enabling users to share files between iPhones and Windows 10 or Windows 11 PCs. Currently, this functionality is being rolled out to Windows Insiders.

With the latest Phone Link update, Insiders can start transferring files between their iPhone and PC. To share a file from an iPhone, users can navigate to the file, tap the share icon, select “Link to Windows,” and then choose the target device. For sharing files from a PC to an iPhone, users can right-click on the file, select “My phone,” and send it to their connected device.

It is unclear when this feature will be available to all Phone Link users.

Microsoft first introduced Phone Link for iOS last year, allowing iPhone users to make and receive calls, send iMessages, access contacts, and view notifications directly on their Windows PCs. The app was previously exclusive to Android users.
